SECURE 2.0 raised the age at which individuals must start taking RMDs from 72 to 73 for those turning 73 in 2023, and it will further increase to 75 in 2033. It also introduced flexibility for surviving spouses in terms of how RMDs are calculated and when they need to begin taking them.
